# Data Explorer: knowledge base

The knowledge base for **Data Explorer**: where a connected
building's data goes, from the door to the cloud, and what the law says its
owner is owed at each step.

This bundle is the site's content, not only notes about it. Every article,
right, component and instrument the site shows is a concept here, compiled at
build time (proposed; see [the decision](decisions/okf-as-content-source.md)).
It is written in the [Open Knowledge Format](https://github.com/GoogleCloudPlatform/open-knowledge-format)
v0.2 and is meant to be published alongside the site.

The specification it grounds is [SPEC.md](../SPEC.md). The short form of the
argument is [the article](thesis/the-article.md).

**Not legal advice.** Every legal reading is the author's own, not reviewed by
a lawyer (`legal_review: none`), and the site says so wherever law appears.
